How To Prepare

Before your first class:

Register online and fill out all information for your check.
Use online booking and download our app here.

What To Eat

It’s best to practice on an empty or nearly-empty stomach. If it’s been many hours since your last meal, a light snack such as fruit, some nuts or slice of cheese is a great idea.

What To Drink

It’s important to be well-hydrated before you come to class. Drink water, coconut water or other electrolyte-rich, non-surgary, non-carbonated beverages in the hours leading up to your first class.

What To Wear

Moisture-wicking tights or shorts, athletic tops, tunics or tees that won’t restrict your movements are best. Leave your sweatpants and sweatshirts for after class — they will be too warm in the studio.

What to bring:

  • Yoga mat

  • Towel

  • Water bottle

Mats and towels are all available to rent for $5. We also have mats, towels, and other accessories available for purchase in our retail store

Where To Store Your Stuff

Men and women’s changing rooms have personal cubbies and hooks for your personal belongings. Please store valuables in one of our short-term lockers or leave them at home.

What NOT To Bring To Class:

  • Shoes, socks or slippers

  • Cell phones

  • Heavy, jangly jewelry

  • Food, chewing gum or candy

  • Heavily-scented skin and hair

  • Your pets (only Downward Dogs are allowed in the studio).

What To Expect In The Studio

Make sure to identify yourself as a newcomer to your instructor. This will help him or her assist you and will result in a more enjoyable class. It can be helpful to take a spot in the middle or back of the studio. That way you will be able to see both the instructor and other students moving into the postures in front of you.

BE PATIENT and GENTLE with yourself. Do not compare yourself to other students or attempt to go further into postures than you feel ready to. Getting used to the heat will come surprisingly quickly. If you feel overwhelmed at any time during class, go into Child’s Pose for as long as you need to.

What To Do After Class

Be sure to drink lots of water directly after class and when you get home. A warm bath in epsom salts can prevent and soothe muscle soreness.

 Yoga Vs. Headache (Fun tidbit)

When dealing with any headache minutes can seem pretty much like hours.

However, when the headache is tension related, there is a feeling of no end.  When one such headache arises, yoga may be the best answer.  Through the use of various inversions poses, you may receive relief from your headache.  An inversion pose puts the head below the level of the heart and includes such well-known versions as the downward facing dog, child’s pose, forward folds and even the legs up the wall pose.  Not only do these poses aid in stretching out the neck and shoulder muscles, in turn, relieving tension, but they also help significantly in improving overall circulation.  Improved circulation will speed up the passing of the headache as a result.
